http://www.canyoneers.com Canyoneers' intrepid trip leader, Carolyn Forenza, invites you to the river then shares her geologic expertise during a side canyon excursion. She discusses the fossil record with an invitation to reach out and span with one hand the gap from which life first makes it's appearance in the Grand Canyon. Does this mark the emergence of life on Earth?

The trip continues along narrow, dusty trails, zig-zagging up steep canyon walls to emerge atop the canyon's precipice. Our guests are stunned by the breathtaking panoramic view more than 500 feet above the distant green ribbon of the Colorado River.
