I'm aware of that, if you had read and understood my comment you would realize I'm familiar with the area. I even swam across the lake in the 80's when I was in my teens (Damons Pt to Bernhards Bay). Maybe you should lay off the 420 a bit. Here's one for you - Lake Okeechobee is the largest lake in Florida and the 2nd largest freshwater lake encompassed wholly in the lower 48 states

The Sherrif marine station is right down that way another 1/2 mile or so. Must have been shift change or trying to avoid overtime with them all coming in like that. Maybe a training excercise ?
Everytime I have kayaked passed the station all the boats are tied up and unused. They do have some nice equipment though for just being used on Oneida Lake.
