This is a quick video of my latest project. My friend and i have just bought her to restore. She has been derelict for 4 years after one of her body bearers snapped ! After just 2 weeks work she now starts and stops, holds water, has stopped leaking fuel and builds up air !!!! This is her running in preservation for the first time in 4 years we are overthe moon !!!!!

  • @jaggass How dare you!!!! A far superior piece of engineering that should have been developed properly. Might have seen off Volvo if cash had been spent on PSV & Lorries instead of Allegro's and Princesses!!!!!

  • @mgarrbomberstm here's one tourist that Malta's lost for good

  • Dave Bowman loves his AEC's.

  • @mgarrbomberstm

That is awful that the old buses, full of character, will now be scrapped or just left to rot, in favour of the modern, souless vehicles. I`d love to have the money to save a few of the old ex LT AEC Swifts (SM`s). I drove them in the 70`s, when they were the most disliked buses on LT, but would love to see a few survive.

  • In malta at the moment we have hundreds of those but from 1 july onwards we are going to implement the arriva bus service with king longs ... NO more old ones ;'(

  • @AliceeeVictoriaaa Remember the DAF MB200 engine was based on the 680 Leyland engine.

  • I have met the operator whose name is on the front of that coach. We agree that there is a serious fault with the AEC. Nobody makes them any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • moxon tours of oldcotes, notts had a aec reliance RDT89R.
