March 10, 1944. Vichy French Newsreel. In High Savoy, near Roche sur Foron, the Vichy Groupes Mobiles de Reserve (GMR) surround a chalet which had been occupied by the French Resistance. Food and clothes were stored in the chalet to which GMR set fire. A little farther, the bodies of seven policemen executed by the members of the Resistance were recovered. The bodies are carried back down into the valley.

Translation by Olivenstein:

In the Haute Savoie region near LaRoche s/Foron, the G.M.R. [Groupes mobiles de reserve--Rene Bousquet's mobile gendarmerie] encircle a chalet - den of terrorists - where stacks of sundry loot is discovered. The chalet, consequently set ablaze, had also been transformed into a prison by the maquisards [armed resistance]. From information gathered, in this spot are buried the seven bodies of police inspectors and superintendents who had been abducted 8 January [1944] by a group of maquisards. The bodies appear. All have bullet holes in the back of their heads in accordance with Moscow's method. How can such crimes be perpetrated behind the banner of patriotism?
