  • I first heard this song on a Bud Shank, a jazz flutist, album (LP!) years ago. He played it with blind koto player Kimio Eto. It just knocked me OUT!

The album was "Koto & Flute" on World Pacific Records, WP-1424. Way out.

How great that Youtube has various version of it now. Thank you!!

  • very cool!!!

  • You can find the sheet music on eBay. Search for "Haru no Umi".

  • I have been searching for sheet music for this since I first heard this on classical flute. Anyone know where I can find it?

  • This is going straight on my favorite list! I've always wanted to play the Shakuhachi!

  • Very smooth tone!

  • Another Wonderful piece! As a Shakuhachi player of just one year i'm always inspired by such plaing! Thank you again for sharing! Is a CD available of these pieces?

  • Your excellent performance makes me proud of a culture the whole world now shares in fruitfully. Carry on your good work!
