- This is a short instructional video on how to forward a network port on a simple network using a linksys router. It is the second of three main steps in enabling a DVR to be remote viewable across the Internet when the DVR is located on a simple network.

  • when i go to my routers website it askes for a username and password when i type that in it lodes a blank page HELP ME and i type in my password it brings up a blank page HELP ME

  • @g2zzal Did you set your router's password or is it still set to default? If you did not reset it, it is most likely still using the default username/password combo which you should be able to get from your routers manual. If you don't have the manual you can usually obtain it online through tech support for the router manufacturer. Also try using Internet Explorer if you're using a different browser currently to try and access your router's configuration menu.

  • IP of the DVR? I want to play online games over wifi, I've never opened ports before but I used a similar tutorial to yours but still my ports are closed. send me a message or something

  • @XpliciTTRecords We are a security camera company so this video is in the context of trying to set up a DVR for security cameras over a network. If you've forwarded your ports in the router and applications are telling you the ports are still not open, you may have a software firewall that's blocking them from access.
