@frauirmabunt The 100s had a Laycock de Normanville electronic overdrive. There's a switch to the right of the steering wheel which gives him an OD gear for 3rd and 4th, effectively giving the ~1956 Healey 100-4 a 6-speed transmission.
My dad raced them back in the late 50's and always talked about how awesome that overdrive was. It would hold gear under braking, if you switched down to normal and the second you touch the gas.. .boom, instant gear changes.
