I've read somewhere that if you do a praise gesture at the sun you get some sort of lightning spear. The next time you come across one of those "Praise the Sun" gestures try seeing if you can aim your view at the sun and do the praise gesture? Mind you I don't know if this is just malarkey or not. I've not gotten my hands on Dark Souls yet.
