Agreed. I was actually in the original '77 educational as a kid (forgive me if this is covered ground) & spent forever trying to find a copy after only getting to see it once.

While I was stoked to finally find it as an adult, it's safe to say that the version you've created is far closer to the memory of what ran in my head for the intervening 3 decades.

i've actually done something similar with another old film, and this being los angeles, one of the audience members came up and told me not only that his dad shot it, but that he, his brother and mom were the actors in one scene. thankfully, he was not pissed.
