This is a nice, small ruin conveniently located for the Speyside Whisky Trail. It is open all year round with free entry. Access is via the signposted car park. Exact date of construction is unknown but it is thought that constrcution dates to around the 1370s and it may have been built on the site of a former Iron Age fort.

The castle used to be the stronghold of Alexander Stewart aka 'the 'Wolf of Badenoch' who lived 1342--1406
