@LadyVioleta1 The Persian Boy...my favorite book ever. Have read it many times over the years without ever tiring of it. Beautiful writing and descriptions by Mary Renault, who wrote many books set in ancient times and all of them are wonderful. Read Fire from Heaven, Renault's story of Alexander's childhood and youth; another great book. I always wished for The Persian Boy to be made into a film and Oliver Stone's movie is the closest we're probably going to get.

@Schijoni The book is called "THE PERSIAN BOY" by Mary Renault. It is the second book in the trilogy about Alexander of the author. It tells the story of Bagoas in first person. It is a very beautiful and romantic novel. Bagoas's love for his Lord Alexander, so submissive, so committed, so beautiful!!! I recommend the book because when you read it notes that the character of the film is based on that novel. It is much better appreciated the wonderful performance of Francisco.

After reading The Persian Boy, I love Bagoas so freakin much, I wish that Alexander have lived on with Bagoas instead ;( oh wellz maybe somewhere in sometime, they have been reborn together <3
