This video is so full of mistakes!
Leishmania don't devour immune cells. They live in the phagocytic vacuoles, then the cells burst.
Not all Leishmania are deadly. Most cause skin lesions.
And sandflies are not repelled by normal insect repellents.
Plus most of the Leishmania in the video were moving the wrong way. They move towards the flagellum, not away from it.
And in the human body they don't have a flagellum. They lose it.

Paralyzing the body's defense system, sounds like a very nasty parasite. Good thing I don't live in any of those places where it's common :)
