Police, Protesters Clash at NATO Summit

Police are clashing with demonstrators in Strasbourg where the NATO summit is under way. Several hundred protesters in eastern Strasbourg are hurling Molotov cocktails, rocks and bottles as they try to push their way into the city's center. (April 4)

fucking basterds, I was in that crowd overthere and by that time the police managed to trap us after which they totally tried to disorganize and intimidate us by the extensive use of teargas thrown within the crowd. what clash are they speaking of? all I know is that afterwards we were followed by a range of ME police for a really long time forcing us to go into one direction like sheep.

@znubzz188 I see...I don't think violence leads to resolving problems,I was just wondering .People of planet Earth should get to the point when we realise that we are "like the fingers of the hand,all different,but all belonging to the same hand",and that material gaining isn't the way to a happy life,because that's what people seek.Some seek it in gathering more and more,eventually they will recognize that they're poor and not truly rich.This was my opinion.Best wishes to one and all!

@jlasud truth is that the authorities do lot to prevent people from taking along any weapons. Most of the people travel from elsewhere to the summit and area around the city ispretty well controlled. People of which the police suspects that they will take part in the summit are checked and denied access if they carry along anything that looks like a weapon. you gotta take it to a higher level if you want to go that way.

@znubzz188 I don't understand why can't rioters use shields,gas masks,baseball bats,p1peb0mbs if they want to fight ,and have some good strategies and preparation.I was never present at any riot,I'm just asking.

I was there too, we walked right into that trap and they just barraged us all with the pepper gas (I refuse to call it tear gas anymore). People got hurt by the canisters too. I was with the Dutch delegation, it was easily the saddest part of the morning.
