I remember my Mum playing these songs when I was about five years old. I never thought I'd come back to play them in my 40's, but artists like these are legendary.

I am praying for Dionne. She has taken her cousin Whitney Houston's death pretty hard and I am sure she will be at her funeral. In 1963,her carrer was just taking off and that was the year Whitney was born.I know there is almost 23 years difference, but she is Whitney's first cousin. Both of their mothers were sisters.

OMG the lady is beautiful with that wonderful voice.
High cheekbones, beautiful doe eyes, exotic looks. She was revelation then and still is everytime she sets her foot on stage.

With her impeccable voice, gospel training, formal education in music, exotic looks, and first-rate mind, Dionne Warwick was the consummate chanteuse, one of popular music's top hit makers, topped only by Aretha Franklin in Top 40 chart recordings, and arguably a better singer. In the UK, Sandie Shaw, Cilla Black & Dusty Springfield all tried to mimic Warwick. No one has ever matched her. Strangely, she has never been given her proper recognition & respect as a megastar vocal artist.
