U.S. REP. GABRIELLE GIFFORD ( D ) SHOT IN HEAD IN CRITICAL CONDITION BY CRAZED FRINGE SHOOTER

Breaking news. Rep.Gabrielle Gifford, a Democratic congresswoman from Arizona, was shot in the head . However, despite reports she is not dead . She is in critical condition . People are speculating she could have been the target of some right wing extremist . The New York Times writes that Giffords' office was vandalized in March a few hours after the House vote overhauling the nation's health care system. The shooter was caught and is described as a young man, mid-to-late 20s, white clean-shaven with short hair and wearing dark clothing . He said nothing during the shooting or while being held down. The Arizona shooter, Jared Loughner was a liberal pothead. In order for a true mental illness to be diagnosed one must be clean for two years for brain chemistry to normalize enough for a proper diagnosis.
