  • the kinect is just shit with this

  • for instance the first 500 miles on my new car i just bought last month where driven purely for pleasure. i took my car out of the dealer, fillled the tank, grabbed some good music to listen then drove aimlessly around my state until it ran dry. then i filled it again and headed back home. it's way more expensive than turning on a computer and playing a sim game, but man, nothing beats doing that.

unfortunaly i have to leave RACING itself for games (or go-kart, or the eventual track day), but..

  • @ronnystoehr its not silly if you just wanna have fun. actually the input controls are not really as important as they look. one could easily make a car driven with a xbox control pad nowadays.

also, most people just want to have fun, and racing games are plenty of fun with gamepads. as for those you described, just get a wheel.

i got a wheel because it makes the games more fun. when i really feel like driving, sorry but nothing beats taking a spin on a real car, even if its a sucky one.

  • @GraveUypo Anybody who simulates car racing in his flat would like to do it for real, but can't, due to limited budget, risk of injury, lack of talent or by having a better payed job (the millionaires in racing are a very small group). My point is simply: how do you steer a real car? Why would you use buttons for that in a simulator? It's silly, and again: IMO!

  • @ronnystoehr not funny, fun. im not some broken guy with shattered dreams of being a pro racer that has to resort to sim racers to ease the pain, and act condecending about it. yeah, i used gamepads on sim racers before i bought a wheel. and it was just (well, almost) as fun

  • @madmax2069 Where did you get the impression I wasn't stating MY opinion? See, you have an asshole, I have one, I just think that using gamepads or keys to play a sim destroys the accurate physics by using silly controls...that's why you'll never see a sim like rF on a console...qed.

  • @ronnystoehr its a little thing called personal preference, we all have personal preference, they are like opinions and opinions are like assholes, everyone has them. You or no one else can tell anyone (except your kids) on what they have to play a game with regardless if its a sim or arcade. for a console system this is a Sim, maybe not to a PC style of sim, but its a sim non the less. There is nothing wrong with playing rFactor with a gamepad.

  • @GradyLorenzo U talking to me? GraveUwhatever uses a gamepad with a sim. Of course, I won't even discuss using arrow keys... ;)

  • @ronnystoehr who the hell plays rF with a pad? I play it with arrow keys before i go gamepad...

  • here's an example turn your wheel to the left or right then lightly step on the gas you would think your wheels would straighten up? NO! Fix and FIX NOW!
