An angry man

Cycling along, I hear what I think is a toot behind (isn't picked up by the mic which faces forward). I look around and the chap in the following car asks me to pull over. At a glance, it didn't seem aggressive, so I assumed he just wanted to tell me something. As I was turning right I continued my turn and stop. Then I asked what the problem was in a friendly manner. Turns out he was an angry man. I have no idea why. Notice how he threatens to drive the car at me and verbally threatens me. Why?

Nope. People get pissed off at me because I generally overtake them (Trust me I do!), I get to work quicker than them, as a result I am healthier than them and less stressed than them. I'd hate me, if I wasn't me! :-)

The reason why he rides in the middle of the road, is because it prevents him from being hit by doors opening, or pedestrians crossing out of no where. It also prevents him from being cut off at junctions. Being in the middle of the road is perfectly legal, and is advised to all cyclists. Cyclists may be slower but they have the same right of way as any car or motorcycle.

@downfader2 This stuff is in the Highway code and IAM guidence, as well as taught by National Standards and Bikeability cycle instructors (training that is in line with some of the advanced motorcycle training).

Dont get angry, this stuff is available on official government websites and co, you can find this stuff yourselves.

This came back up in the recommended vids so I'll take this opportunity to correct some people on here:

1. Legally a cyclist is entitled to ride "primary" or centre of the lane.

2. "Road tax" ..yawn, do some research. Its VED now, and is for the monitoring and control of emissions. Cyclists have no emissions (except after a curry)

3. "Slowing traffic" strawman, a) in the vid he keeps up with the bus ahead, b) traffic is still moving

@balf1111117373 - Most cyclists do pay vehicle excise (road tax does not exist) The real reason for the vast majority of traffic problems is too many cars - you need to take a good look at yourself and what is the reason for most of it frustration when driving . It aint cyclists that cause 90% of traffic jams!

This guy is removing a car from the problem - leaving you a greater share of the dwindling oil reserves to squander. You should thank him - now fuck off and watch top gear

Cyclists are a conveinient excuse for them to nut off and show what greed selfish twats they really are, when the truth is the sheer volume of these greedy twats on the road is what is really causing their problems.

@mynameherenowforever If you cycle over 20mph then the government recommends using the road, not cycle lanes. Cycle lanes are for slow people, you are a slow person so have fun using them.

@magnatom Well,personally I don't want to arrive at work all sweaty and stuff,maybe change clothes etc. And about the stress part,personally when the traffic is really bad I am really calm as I know that no matter what I do it won't change anything.At least it's a lot cheaper if you're a cyclist,faster and healthier...But I would rather wake up 10 min earlier and enjoy driving and later on go to the gym :) Anyway,drivers just don't realize that you don't slow them down;thats why they are pissed.
