Awesome

A spine-tingling performance of Belloc by K. O'Brien! And to think I just accidentally tuned in to the EWTN Theater of the Word. I am now a fan.
-
I love both Belloc and Chesterton! Yes, that particular poem was a bit venomous, but the wit was sharp.
-
Belloc, being an educated man, would doubtless have said 'DESpicable', not 'deSPICable'.
-
Fun!
Well he was christened Hilaire in France, but almost all his friends called him by the English version of his name. He made up a little song about it:
"You with the teeth that hardly fit,
And you with the idiot grin,
Open wide those heavenly gates,
And let poor Hilary in..."
-
Him, & Chesterton are such a pair of Brits. Wow!
-
Wait, is it really pronounced "Hilaire"? I was told once that it was pronounced like "Hillary". Which one is right?
-
Chesterbelloc!
Its hard to understand why people would like one but not the other.
Good stuff!
