Your tank is a lil crowded
-
65% is WAY too much you're killing beneficial bacteria. 20% weekly is a good amount with a light substrate vacume. Shifting the water condition that drastically is as dangerous as not changing water at all.

wheres the heater in your tank? dont you need it for the tropical fish you have?

Gosh those tanks looks so nice....But I know I would be so afraid that the fish would jump out. I'm a Betta fish lover, and the little guy I have right now is an AVID jumper...Sometimes I worry he's gonna jump through a little <1" opening on my lid, lol. So I know this tank isn't for me :(

I bought this tank 3 weeks ago.. I lost 2 fish going on 3...I'm checking the water 3-5 times a day and it's fine. I'm feeding the fish once a day...I have NO IDEA why the fish are dying. The only unusual thing about my water is it is VERY soft. I'm frustrated..anybody know what could be causing this problem?

@Violetta301
There could be a few problems, are you using tap water? if so is it city water and chlorinated? if it is you need to remove the chlorine with the correct chemicals... also did you put the fish in right away? normally you want beneficial bacterial (good bacteria) to build up in the tank a few days before you add fish, if the water is too sterile it may actually harm the fish because the change in climate from their previous tank at the store. hope this helps.

I have the same tank..how do I do the water changed ..do i just empty the whole thing and add new room temperature water?

@jordanhill15 I siphon out about 65% of the water every week with a hose, then clean the inside glass with some folded up paper towels, finally i take the filter box off and scrub any algae off of the LED lights with an old toothbrush, pop in a new filter pad, fill it up with luke warm water and you're good to go for another week or two!!

My chi is doing great, i have not lost a single fish in months, and many of the fish in there are the original ones i put in!. im aware it appears overstocked, but all the fish are eating like crazy, are fat, active and none have died, so i think they are happy.i also clean the tank once a week by draining the water and changing the filter. Hope you enjoy the tank!
