"Daily Courier" Report: KLC's "Forever" Gives MC Goosebumps!

Arguably KLC's most strongest performance [but, in a twisted fate of irony] ends up being her own "Kiss of Death" in a different sort of way [a week later, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's song "Jesus Christ Superstar" was for Mrs. Carly Smithson].

Kristy Lee Cook's American Idol: Season 7- performance track-record:

1) Audition Week: song- "Amazing Grace" [1.15.08], result: SAFE!

2) Top 24 [12 Women] of 1960's: song- "Rescue Me", [2.20.08] result: SAFE!

3) Top 20 [10 Women] of 1970's: song- "You're No Good," [2.27.08] result: SAFE!

4) Top 16 [8 Women] of 1980's: song- "Faithfully," [3.5.08] result: SAFE!

5) Top 12 of "Lennon/McCartney" song- "Eight Days a Week," [3.10.08] result: BOTTOM 2. David Hernandez is eliminated for "I Saw Her Standing Over There" over Kristy. This is where KLC's popularity on the show begins to go considerably downhill. @ this particular point, a noticeably massive "fan-base" erupts with the intent on sending KLC home. Their accusation: for Kristy's blasphemous crime of murdering, butchering & slaughtering a Beatles' classic. Don't worry, Kristy, I still love you unconditionally even though the timeless classic "Eight Days a Week" gets considerable daily play from my iPod.

6) Top 11 of the Beatles(!!) song- "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" [3.18.08]- result: BOTTOM 2. Amanda Overmeyer is eliminated for "Back in the U.S.S.R."

7) Top 10 of "The Year You Were Born" song- "God Bless the U.S.A.(1984)" [3.25.08]- result: SAFE! Chikezie Eze is eliminated.

8) Top 9 of Dolly Parton's song- "Coat of Many Colors" [4.1.08]- result: BOTTOM 2. Ramiele Malubay is eliminated for "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?"

9) Top 8 of Inspirational-Themed Music's song- "Anyway" [4.8.08]- result: SAFE! Michael Johns is (jaw-droppingly) eliminated for "Dream On" over Carly Smithson's "The Show Must Go On!" & Syesha Mercado's Fantasia Barrino cover.

10) Top 7 of Mariah Carey's song' "Forever" [4.15.08]- result: ELIMINATED. Brooke White survives elimination & lives to see another day (or 2 weeks exactly, lol).

Random Note: After Kristy Lee Cook performed "Forever," she stood before all three judges, & KLC was nervously awaiting Simon's reaction after Randy & Paula's. The dialogue went exactly like this:

Simon Cowell: "Well, you probably weren't jumping for joy, were you, when you heard it was 'Mariah Carey' week?"

Kristy Lee Cook: "I was just happy that I gave her chills. & I was like-"

Simon Cowell: [interrupts her] "Well, you didn't give me chills."

...Ouch, hilarious, but ouch (Kristy Lee would have the last laugh on her exit encore of "Forever" when she embarrassed Simon by standing on the table next to him & serenading him with her song. Aw, how cute. Just like "Kristy's Seat" during Dolly Parton week, lol).

Actually, I know the music industry inside and out--having worked for quite a few record labels and country music radio. Voices like Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood are the new genre while classics like Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton live on strong forever. Kristy Cook has no above average talent and her voice is very weak. You can say I am blind all you want--BUT--at least I am not deaf.

Unlike "silvers20," I don't think you're blind @ all. I know that there is a lot of anti-KLC resentment out there. You have to consider the fact that, if you're watching the show, Jason Castro & Syesha Mercado are STILL on the show, & the argument that you proposed about Kristy could very well be made for them as well.

Judging from your comments, have you personally met Kristy? You seem to have a lot of resentment for her. Just curious, what makes you HATE her so much?

i actually dont care for kristys voice either, i just think its sad when people start saying "they suck" when they made it into the top 7, they obviously have some talent, people liek you are just ignorant, im sure your either jealous of her or just have nothing to look forward too in your boring life, you probably suck at your job, ignorant slob

last year was the ebst season ever kristy-lee cook carly smithson archiee and david cook should of been top 2 but kristy and carly r my idols there the ebst hope the come 2 australia one day and become a huge star

I'm an Archie fan and I respect Kristy Lee. She is great and what I most like about her is that she is a fighter. Even in the middle of almost everybody criticizing her that she shouldn't be there, she still go up there every week and showed her best. I salute her.

so you hate her singing voice, but the critic of all American Idol says she has a fantastic voice half the time. Top 20, 16, 10, 9, 8 and kind of 7 weeks she got a good report from Simon. And just becuase she sells and breeds horses doesn't mean she doesn't own one, alright? What if I sold and bred cats, would it make is so I can't own a cat? And she is not trying to be someone she's not, she messes around withh all the songs she sings. 8 days a week may not have been good, but a good arrangment

hmmm... well let's look back, shall we? week of the top 10, awesome week. top 9, awesome week, top 8 awesome week, top 7 okay week. top 20 week, awesome week. she's had so many awesome weeks, you cant say she's a bad singer. if she was bad they wouldnt have let her even be in the competition. if she was bad she wouldnt be in the top 7 over michael johns. and just becausee she's friends wit britney doesnt mean thats why she's good.
