Wow, three projects in 36 hours. A marathon woodworking weekend with Charles Neil consists of learning how to design and make cabriole legs, dovetail a small box, make moldings, install hardware, make ogee feet, and if that isn't enough, how about a pencil post bed, all ready to pack in your truck and go home to your workshop.

Join Charles and Mike as they let you have a glimpse of their woodworking this past weekend.

  • Very nice.....can you do close ups on your finished cuts? I can see that you know what you're doing.....fast and you have all your fingers.

  • The object here is to show that there is an easier way to do the post, its not possible to show it all on youtube,it requires the jigs, and we have the whole thing on the dvd,its the only way to show how to do what you see.We have a full bed dvd and just the post one, both show how to make the jigs and what bits we use

  • Charles, you are a hot shot!

  • catch ye later :D

  • That's a nice way to cut an octagon. In the past I had set my jointer deep and on a 45 to get that cut. It did not come out as deep and nice as yours near the entry cut. It would serve, and could pass, but not like yours. I also have cut them with a chamfer spokeshave, a lot of work, and then the "lambs tounge". I like the way you work. Thanks for posting. You beat old "NORM" for the real deal.

  • I want to find how to woodwork and make a boomerang. not the ones that are "L" shaped but straight like a ruler and the aerodynamics is like one side is flat and the other side is curved like a airplane wing.

  • Charlie , yer a gooood teacher!

  • Yea this guys is awesome giving me a free lesson

  • The thing I really liked about his class was that he shows you how to do something and then he makes you do it on your own and he won't let you leave until he knows that you know what you are doing.

The DVD on Jigs is loaded with a lot of good information.

  • I have the dvds from this guy and made the jigs. They do work as advertised. I have also done classes with him and he does make a post in 20 minutes. Unbelievable stuff. Worth every penny.
