Earthbound Zero - Pollyanna (sped up and higher pitched)

This song was in the key of G, which I think is the ugliest of all keys, so I raised the pitch by one whole step to the key of A, which in turn also sped up the song.

I think it's an improvement.

Why does this sound so much better than the original? It feels like this is the original, and the original is actually a modified version made to sound bad.
