After nearly 40 recordings under his own name, this is the first Pat Metheny album where there is not a single Metheny composition represented. This is a personal view of ten classic songs, some very well known, some less so, filtered through the harmonic and melodic ideology of a modern master with a most individual approach.

"What's It All About" is available for digital download, CD, and vinyl. Please visit http://patmetheny.shop.musictoday.com/Dept.aspx?cp=13944_47498 for more information about how to order.

  • Chaos is the law of nature, Order is the dream of a Pat Metheny Puritan, haunted by the fear that someone, somewhere is having fun listening to the 'Dumbest music there ever could possibly be"

  • Pat Metheny is the best musician on the planet! Bar-none, period, end of story.

Greetings from the UK. It's so nice to see so many people around the world love Pat and his music like we do. It touches us so deeply and truly enriches our lives. He is a very special person and one of the greatest living musicians.

  • @Bergamoben I find any dislike unbelievable

  • Congratulations with the Grammy! Well deserved! :-) Come to Denmark again soon! :-)

  • @bernipuente8 Damn right he's the Einstein of music! He's got the hair to :)

  • Thank you for your MUSIC! I am a huge fan of you since 80's! Your performance in Athens, Greece was an incredible experience! I was crying! Straight to my heart!

(1 dislike? People can not recognize the unique gift of God to Pat! He is blessed and he is one of the greatest musicians of all time! A genius!)

  • Hey Pat, thanks man for just doing something that everyone can grasp. I have been a fan of your since I saw you for the first time in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the late 80's. Even though I am a bassist, you were really influential on my musical journey, and I always wanted to thank you personally. So Thanks for all the great music, most of all for this, I believe it will be with Stanleys "East River Drive" in heavy rotation in my custom shop as I build instruments for people much like you.

  • 1 dislike ??? Unbelievable. Pat just gets better and better. This album is sublime.
