Anura Bandaranaike passes away : 16-March-2008

Parliamentarian Anura Bandaranaike has passed away. He was 59. Mr. Bandaranaike was ailing for some time. (16/03/2008)

President Rajapakse visited Visumpaya as soon as he received information on the death and expressed his deepest sympathies to family members. The President inquired into the funeral arrangements. He even visited the private hospital in Colombo where Mr. Bandaranaike was receiving treatment and inquired into his condition. Mr. Bandaranaike's remains will be placed at Visumpaya until 11.00 am tomorrow. The body is due to be brought to the Parliamentary Complex at around 11.30 am tomorrow. It will be placed there for about three hours and thereafter taken to the Horagolla residence. The funeral will take place near the Horagolla Samadhi on Wednesday.

Dont pass on stupid comments. I'm totally against SWRD Bandaraniake's doings as well, and blame him to be responsible for what has happened. But Anura Bandaraniake was not that bad a politician. He didn't commit any grave mistakes unlike his father. He was an educated and gentlemanly politician unlike the other baffoons we have. Therefore, don't blame him for others mistakes.
