Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe says the coalition government formed in 2008 has "overstayed its welcome" and should be voted out.

Mugabe was addressing the annual conference of his Zanu-PF party. The 87-year-old president has ruled Zimbabwe for  31 years, and says he is prepared to stand again.

Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa reports Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second largest city.

  • @sol2soul77 amen

  • @blueiguy1 I get angry too when I hear comments which can only cause division. I believe that we are all gods' children and we need to treat each other with kindness and respect. I am disgusted with Gwede Montashe and the SACP for sending advisors to Zimbabwe to help Mugabe and the ZANUPF, by doing so these communist pigs show their total lack of integrity and this decision will haunt them in the future. Morgan Tsangerai is a true freedom fighter and I wish him well in the Zimbabwe elections

  • AWAKEN AND STOP ILLUSIONS FROM BLINDING YOU FROM REALITY, POLITICS IS A SHOW THAT DIVIDES ITS AUDIENCE, AND YOUR PARTICIPATION IS LIMITED TO VOTING. DONT BE FOOLED INTO HANDING YOUR FREEDOM TO A CHOSEN FEW. WHY WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE THE POWER TO AFFECT YOUR DESTINY.. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AFRICA, AMERICA OR ANY COUNTRY FOR THAT MATTER THE PLANET EXISTS WITHOUT BORDERS APART FROM NATURAL ONES BUT LETS GET AWAY FROM BEING DIVIDED AND CONQUERED AND BE FREE .PEACE AND LOVE

  • @MrGodfree3 I know what you wrote pig skin. You know jack shit about my life or my struggle. I thank god i'm NOT starving . Because ME and MY FAMILY worked our asses off. So please go back to the neanderthal cave you came from troll.

  • @MrGodfree3 FUCK YOU my family fought and died due to all the racism and bigotry in my country, black people had to struggle and come together. many were lynched and burned alive especially in my area. America wasn't always a nice place. Like i said before its is up TO ZIM'S to save themselves not Europeans or their children. I DON"T agree with Mugabe which is why I want Africans to do better. And like Egypt , Tunisia, etc regimes rise and fall and hopefully so will this one.

  • @blueiguy1 I wonder if you would feel the same way if your family was starving to death.

Haha as long as you're not the nigger thats suffering it's all good.

  • @tdurran Ian Smith may have been a racist but he was a better leader than Mugabe.

  • @bbenjoe That is the case.

In February 2011, forty-six people in Zimbabwe were charged with treason, and some allegedly beaten by police, after watching videos of the uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia.

    He's definately getting scared!

  • @shaldon21 I never said anything about peoples skin color. I said the world does not belong to Europeans which mean people have to understand HOW Mugabe got into power in the first place. Not that I agree with him, but Know one knew he would be so greedy ,as Ian Smith was just as bad to Blacks

  • @Perseiden2 Ian Smith is dead and good riddance.
