This song was on Todd Rundgren's "Something/Anything" album back in 1972, but it was his friend and keyboard player Mark "Moogy" Klingman who wrote the song. It's the only song on that double album not written by Todd. Todd's version was performed completely live in the studio.
Axl nails the emotion on this one - very similar to the original except no horns. He sings it like he lived it.
