I started tearing up!!!! I can listen to her forever. No one knows how she gets me thru life. I feel every tone in her voice and the melody in my fingertips when I hear her sing. She can bring a man to his knees, and sooth a babies tears. I wish I knew her. I'm only 27, but her songs are timeless. They're some of my favorites!!!

What makes this song so open to individual interpretation ( in my opinion ) is that each individual who anticipates the journey through life that is written about in this song may have
different expectations about the outcome of the journey as well as the journey itself. These
expectations could be based on optimism, uncertainty or perhaps a longing for something
that the individual has not yet experienced in their life.

Lovely footage of my fav lady. ♥

Ohh God this is great!! Thank you so much for posting.

I thought Julie Christy aged better than any broad in show business, but maybe it was Ms. Horne.

@NYCguys2007 Bland? Bland? You are the one not knowlegeable, Mancini is quoted saying that she captured the essence of the song. Now I do think that this is good, so was Andy Williams, but don't knock the original. As far as bland how are you supposed to sing deep in thought sitting on a fire escape. Did you want bravura?

Not the best haircut for her face. Love her style though
-
that hairstyle is unfortunate!

good god is that ever that awful.. lol! the original song is perfect the way it is. i hate it when people mess with perfection and think it's a great version.

@yajairaslave So in other words, NO ONE should have sung this song other than the original bland "singing" of Audrey Hepburn?? Not Andy Williams who has a giant hit with this song - he is the one the song is associated with? Not countless other real singers who added their interpretation? You're not knowledgeable about music or the recording industry.
