Here's a more simple way of asking my question: If Watchtower Bible And Tract Society has never claimed to be infallable; then why are ones who question their teachings punished so harshly? Particularly when 'new light' may end up proving such doubters to be right?

  • It is about Loyalty to Jehovah, not the men. Jehovah uses this route (JWs) - people have freewill, they are not controlled, predetermined or pre destined. Jehovah has a purpose (not plan) that will be accomplished. The route to that accomplishment can include men going different routes, not in the sense they are all and always right, but in the sense they will not de-rail Gods purpose. We need to stick loyally to God and his arrangement because He is not limited as men are. Endurance - Faith.

  • @Fizzypop1211 So Jehovah would be pleased with you if you supported an organization that you know to be wrong?

  • Remember when Moses was the leader of Gods organization out in the wilderness, andkorah, dathan and abiram and 120 other leaders of the tribes did not like some of the laws and things he would tell them to do? they were so confident that they were right, that they stood before Jehovah to condem him, remember also what happened to them when they were destroyed that day, by being swallowed alive by the ground(earthquake) also remember God was also noticing Moses and aron They had to die there als

  • @bgillard12 The key differences with this situation are: (1) I have the Bible to aid me, Korah did not. (2) Korah and gang were seeking self aggrandizement, or self advancement trying to attain higher positions in life, (3) if I am wrong I invite the Governing Body to cry out and ask Jehovah to swallow me up. In any event fundamentally the comparison is flawed because it doesn't change the fact, or hurt my argument, that Jehovah abandoned Israel when they became corrupt.

  • @Batrealitymatrix1 Answer: Self Justification.

  • @Fizzypop1211 ..check out Matt 27:25 and the what has become the lot of the Jewish people from that day to this. Terrible.

  • @bgillard12 (Your 1st Para) - that's an interesting proposition. Of course, your comment doesn't allow for them to remember that Jehovah had taught them on many occasions that they could invalidate their worship however holy they felt they were, by disregarding Jehovah's requirements in another area. A good example is sacrifice. Jehovah allowed them to bring according to their wealth, but they abused this by offering up sick and blind on the cheap. Disowning Gods prophets (&son) never went well

  • @Fizzypop1211 Jesus commanded his followers to do this at Matt.28:18-20. He had given them the example how, he had taught them by being with them "in the front line" and encouraged them to go off in two's to assist each other. The Apostle Paul (who followed Jesus) conducted a similar style ministry. I am sure you know this. So without arguing about the methods (I agree, there are many aspects to evangelizing) - answer me please, WHO else / preaches as Jesus commanded, / pointing to Gods purpose?

  • @AnonDude2 @anissueofursincerity Dealing with Evangelizing / how, which you both raise, the answer is surely found int he example and instructions of the Master, Jesus, not any argument over ancient words? Jesus expended himself, literally spent all his perfect energy going to people at their villages and homes. He gave large discourses (on the Mount) and 1-2-1 - the Samaritan woman at the well (yes, even to women) along with miracles to establish his authority for starting the "new" religion.

The greek εὐαγγέλιον euangélion was used in those days to refer to the announcing of a king. It didn't have anything to do with preaching theology.

  • @Fizzypop1211 What does 'evangelizing' entail? Is there more then one way? And if there isn't, does it really matter? Can you be declared righteous by works? The comparison is valid. But a better way to approach it would have been using God's judgement of Israel. He abandoned them. God did not support the Israelites who supported wrongdoing. So why would he support individual Witnesses who support wrongdoing knowingly? Is it not a greater sin to do something wrong knowingly?

  • @Awake2theWatchtower it is not the same, but it is similar; the typical, or literal, arrangements of physical earthly Israel are superseded by what it all pointed to - the antitypical, the spiritual. So Jesus shall we say concluded the earthly Israel arrangements and instigated covenants for spiritual Israel - part of that means gentiles like me are invited to the party, but there would still be order, congregations, a channel to direct the primary work Jesus commanded - of evangelizing. Do you?

  • Yhats why The Watchtower is a contradictory cult, formed by a group of imbeciles called the governing body.

  • @Fizzypop1211 Your comparison with people not leaving the nation of Isreal back then is not the same. Back then Gods people had to stay as part of that system because of the temple arrangement but since Christ that has all been done away with. You are suffering under the mistaken belief that God once again is working thru an earthly "nation" of sorts. Today faith and endurance is in Christ alone and cannot be muddied by comprimise with manmade affiliations.
