Phillip J. Resnick, MD: The Andrea Yates Case: Insanity on Trial

Dr. Resnick, is professor of psychiatry and director of the Division of Forensic Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, will be visiting UNM at the invitation of the UNM Health Sciences Center's IDEAS in Psychiatry program, a nonprofit educational institute that provides up-to-date scientific information about psychiatric illnesses, symptoms and treatments.

Andrea Yates, Jeffrey Dahmer, Scott Peterson, Timothy McVeigh and Ted Kaczynski are some of the defendants in cases Resnick has been involved in, both with the prosecution and defense.

IDEAS in Psychiatry is a nonprofit educational institute that provides useful, accurate and up-to-date scientific information about psychiatric illnesses, symptoms, and treatments. Our goal is to change the conversation -- to encourage open, honest and informed discussion -- so that those impacted by mental illness can seek effective help for themselves or their loved ones and so that professionals have the tools to deliver the best care possible.
