After hiding in storage for more than a decade, BBC 110 undergoes restoration, and once again makes an appearance on the streets of Dayton. We cruise along Salem Avenue following route #8 to the Northwest Hub. On the way back to downtown along Salem Avenue, we travel through a section of the route that has seen trolley buses running continuously since 1933 (see comment below by "daytontrolleys"). We get dropped off at Main & 5th for lunch. And then continue our journey travelling southbound along Main Street. But this time we get to see the bus from a roof top perspective! Unfortunately the trolley bus runs into dead wire at Brown & Wyoming. After pushing the bus through the intersection 4 times, we gave up on the idea of visiting Oakwood. Onwards to Lakeview Avenue and then to Townview. We pass through a residential area on the way to the Westown Hub. Our tour wraps up in downtown at Main & 5th where BBC 110 is seen driving off into the horizon.

  • It is really nice to see live overhead still in use in the suburbs..........we have NON in the UK other than a few musuem lines.

  • @northstar1950 - And it's good to see that they're currently refurbishing the system. It's too bad there are none in the UK, but if you ever want to go for a ride on one of these BBC trolleys, check out the museum in Sandtoft.

  • Why were people pushing the bus??

  • @iluvSpectacular011 The power was shut off on that section of overhead wire & the bus eventually came to a hault.

  • haha 1:22 looks like a robber

  • @kn00tcn True. LOL I think he was more excited about getting shots of the bus. :-)

  • @FlyerE901 Don't they have auxillery power units?

  • @tomomiko202 Through the emergency exit roof hatch. Got the idea from a couple other guys who were doing videos through the roof hatch.

  • how did you get the video above the bus roof while moving?

  • @daytontrolleys No worries. :-) I didn't even realize there was missing information in that "speech". But thanks for the additional info.
