I don't get why you don't like Reverse to be up near first gear, actually i've found that most non-american cars are such a way. Most all BMWs, Porsche, mini, audi, nissan, ferrari, and volkswagen put Reverse at the top left of the gearbox....... Oh, and if i recall doesn't a 2008 Mitsubishi eclipse have it up by 1st. I personally really don;'t mind the difference.

@dryan2 personal preference really. me and my big ape hands and a tendency to put the car in revers by accident. it's also a bit of a bitch to figure out if you're in first or reverse at times. when reverse is on the opposite side of the shift pattern it just works better for me. not sure if the 08 eclipse has first and reverse next door or not, my wife insisted we buy the autobox, let's just say she won that argument.

I love those Mazdas. Some people will argue and say they have an ugly face but I love it. What car did you actually wind up buying?

lol thats stupid price its around $46000 AUD A MITSUBISHI EVO IS $60000 BUT

alot better and something like lancer vrx is pretty good 2 thats what i got

I think reverse is usually up by first because because of the oops factor. If you are going to accidentally go into reverse, would you rather do it at a stop (when going for first) or on the highway (while going for a higher gear)?

Also, this is the first review I've seen that really praises the styling. I think it looks like the Joker..."Why so serious?"
