What lens do you suggest using for a canon 60d to photograph mostly 18x24in paintings?

"a simple setup"
Yeah, maybe if you have tons of time on your hands and 1000s of dollars to spend on equipment lol

I think this tutorial and the Artist's Web how to photgraph artwork give you the whole picture. Basically you want aperture of F8. Probally experiment with shutter speed. Be sure to make a record of the shutter s of each picture so you know what you did wrong or right.

Nice simple trick on getting your 45 degree angle lights in line.
To get your camera parallel, which is very important, I use a laser and mirror. Very handy trick.
Polarization and icc profiles help greatly in reducing spectral highlighting.
Decent, but showing the end result would have been nice. Displaying detail of results. Also, which lens works most effectively. Im a novice photographer, so my results have been varied. Biggest problem; not enough detail of color.

well... you don´t talk and show how the colors you get is the real colors of the artwork! you need to show for the camera the correct white balance.
and please... teach the cameraman how get images with a tripod! he shakes alot.!...
