Windows 7 vs Windows XP on 900HA

Comparing a freshly installed Windows 7 (build 7000) with a loaded down Windows XP Home SP3 install. Windows 7 is much faster in this test because my Windows XP install is loaded down. Vanilla installs of both would probably show XP is the winner. But the purpose of this test is to just show that Windows 7 works well, even on low end netbooks. I'd say the people at Microsoft are doing quite well so far.

You will notice in the video that there is a black screen for a few seconds. The video starts when XP was selected from the boot menu. I have Daemon Tools installed, and its driver is known to cause XP boot lag. For the few seconds of darkness, it's actually slowly fading the XP logo, so that's why it starts slow.

Another issue I experienced was Windows 7 not immediately connecting to my preferred wireless network. You'll notice in the end that IE8 never loads my home page.

Correct. Eventually I'll post a comparison of equally bloated boot tests. There are plenty of fresh boot test comparisons on youtube, but not many that are weighed down after a few months of use.

Windows XP theme is Zune (google "zune xp theme" and you should find it). I think Windows 7 was set to the default theme using wallpapers from landscapes (US region, I didn't activate global region themes yet).

my EEEpc 904HA has dual boot also winxp home and win7 ultimate. For me i prefer Win xp

Windows 7 is not fresh loading is 3-2 minutes.I tested It has been installed only 5 programs and all drivers.Windows Xp in my computer loading for 11 sec.(is not a fresh)
