My pet flying squirrel. I am getting ready to clean his cage, so I am checking up on him. I acquired him last July as a pet. He was found on the ground, unable to climb up, and very sick. He was nursed back to health, but only has three legs and is missing a back foot. But he can still climb and I let him loose in the room at night for a little playtime. Because of his handicap, he is unable to survive on his own in the wild and is now a house squirrel. He is very well behaved and makes a wonderful pet.

Flying squirrels are common in most of Florida north of Lake Okeechobee, but since they only come out at night, few people know about them.
