  • Yeah I didn't realize it until after... was too early in the morning!

  • It's called Devastor, not devastator.

  • The idea is that it emulates a roland tr-909

  • If you had a choice between this and EZ Drummer - which would you use?

  • wow thats pretty kick ass

  • 2 polish plugin

  • i have a question. how you record it from the roland plugin?

  • so after making a beat how do you apply it to your track, im using ableton live 8, would you record it? and would you do the same thing for the other d16 plug ins?

  • Does anyone make physical tr style midi controllers? Something where all the nobs and buttons are layed out and function the same way a real 909/606 does?

  • @172Break So cool to talk to people about the fundamentals of their music. The same what you mentioned applies to amen and other breaks.

  • @waclosh Yes. You need to process the sounds a lot to make them sound contemporary. It's all part of the fun of making a tune :)

The heavily processed Vengeance Sample packs have probably had the biggest effect on what people think drums (especially kicks) should sound like.

The Acid/303 sound goes in and out of fashion every 4 or 5 years. It's been doing this since 1987 (my favourite period was when Hardfloor appeared in 92/93 - maybe that's because I was young then!).

  • @172Break I prefer to synthesize my own samples and then vary them inside the sampler. No offence, but dont you think 909 and 303 sounds have been overused and lost their original flavor?

  • @waclosh I also meant to add. Because Drumazon uses physical modelling of the 909, it is different from using samples. When a real 909 plays any of its sounds, each is slightly different each time it plays. Druamzon also does this. If you play 16 kick drums on Drumazon, each will be very slightly different. This is what adds character to a track.
