  • Good idea, better with a small amount of flux paste

  • Of course!

  • I prefer bending a wire and putting it into a soldering gun (NOT the hot air gun of course, the one with high-current heater tip). Pretty much the same method however (yet faster a bit). Also a funny find - a turbo lighter proved to be plain perfect in small SMD rework (up to 10x10mm). Though needs some skill or the board may delaminate, of course :)

  • Yes! Method with a strong current gun really great, but there is an opportunity to damage the chip, so that the nichrome wire AC high electric potential. But the idea good!

  • I hope you are not working for any electronic company....that's scary!!!

  • Do you think in GE's do it better? View the latest video ...

  • That's really really smart now why I didn't think of it.

  • nice

  • hola me podes hacesorar en las funciones de unos componentes

  • @TheBypasser I just used your method to remove a defective quad comparator in a stereo mixer. Worked great, instant melting of the solder without over heating the board! Thanks for the tip. I thought about the bent wire method but didn't think the time factor would be good for the board and adjacent components, but still a great idea that works. Thanks to both of you.

  • @Riskteven I was removing the ROM chip to put a Genesis cartridge slot in since the Radicas are clone consoles capable of playing cartridge games. The ROM chip is connected to the main pcb with the original style data lines. Just wanted to create a super small genesis system.

  • @MegaSonicdude10 I use a PC to play games. That way I never have to risk destroying a circuit board just to be able to backup installation CDs or saved games.

  • @TrustMe2morrow It is not high voltage.

  • this is a very good idea, thanks will try it out

  • Better than pumping a load of tin on the IC feet.. lol

  • Nice!

  • @MrKobalts i like your english
