Video of a couple of Farmall Diesel tractors from the 1950's. These tractors start on gas and then switch over to diesel.

I noticed you switched it back to gasoline before shutting it down, which is recommended.
People used to crack the heads on the "gas start' diesels by suddenly shutting them down when they were still hot after working hard.
Ideally they be "idled down", like a modern turbo diesel, before being turned off.

Love the old 400's... It was the first tractor I learned how to run when I was a kid.
