In Norfolk, Virginia, in 1973, Heather Elizabeth Grant was crowned the Queen of Azaleas at the annual spring festival. Super 8 footage of the day's ceremonies and parade, complete with marching band, waving dignitaries, and tigers in cages, recently surfaced in Halifax, NS. The found footage has been put together with new 16mm footage of Jenn Grant performing the opening track from her newest album, The Beautiful Wild, "The Fighter" to make a video that speaks to the power of memory and artifact.

Directed by Jason Levangie with styling by Sarah Roy.
