So.... CLM's are basically Rotating Carters?
-
@michaelkochlegal they have saved lives, not only air raids can happen. Growing up in a small town on the Canadian prairies, one was used to call the volunteer fire fighters to station, before pagers existed. The siren also warned us of tornadoes, if it was storming outside, and you heard it go off, you ran for the basement or shelter. I have spent many nights huddled in the basement with mom and dad. Hearing it still brings tears to my eyes and sends shivers down my spine.

What does CLM means ?

I might just have to go up there and see if i can sound it. Been waiting a long time to here the sound of a CLM.

Ive been to this place and took a look the same siren. It's tempting to remove the car and put the drill in there. I dont think those ones were used. I think I recall them being spares or something?

@wiifire8 Yeah that's what i figured. I'd have to say it's creepier looking than the allertor! Have you ever seen the movie blues brothers? There's a scene where they are driving around with one of these strapped to the top of their car and they are using it as a loud speaker haha.
This is one freaky looking siren. Awesome video. Is this only found in canada?

Did you actually push it?
Siren1000T1 1 year ago
@Siren1000T1 Yes I did. Someone must of cut the gear chain in the box below the siren. That would allow it to spin like that. The other siren still has the chain on it and it doesn't even budge.
