What an amazing speech! It almost brought me to tears.

I'm gay but I'd so marry this woman, lol!

And why not? Are they consenting adults? They are? Are they harming you? How? Just by them existing somewhere near you possibly, maybe?

It's not as if they're trying to marry a child or an animal(neither of which would ever happen or even be considered because children and animals cannot CONSENT) and so I see no reason to deny people who love each other from marrying.

It is purely there to give one another rights to each other in the even of something happening to either of you.

It's more than that.

Imagine, if you are a man, that your significant other of 6 years is suddenly hospitalized and she is not conscious; she has no family to contact.

What decisions can you make? None.

What can you do? Nothing.

In the eyes of the law, not man, you are nothing to this woman you have spent the last years loving, joking, laughing, and living with.

In then end, all you needed was a stupid piece of paper to tell you what you already knew; that you were joined together.

Married couples (man&woman) have 1,138 federal rights which gays and lesbians are denied.

There are over 1,000 rights that come with civil recognition (not religious recognition) of marriage. More importantly, the right to plan for each other in the event of an untimely death and the right to do the same for children adopted between the two.
