  • Yesterday, my friend and I skyped his brother who has been in the marines for two years. He says he doesn't regret joining the military but he says its hard being an enlisted marine and he says he misses his brother who he sees only once a year. I'd just like to thank all marines and all soldiers who fight for peace and all the sacrifices you guys make. You all are very brave. Keep up the good work.

  • About 20 years ago, I was a 'throw-dummy' for the folks designing the predecessor of this program. Back then, it was called "line training" and I was a CPL at the Staff NCO Academy, Command and Staff College, and Officers Candidate School at Quantico. I'm honored to have been a part of something like this. It also, years later, saved my life when I was mugged at gunpoint in Boston. The guy who tried it served 18 months, because I kicked his ass, and held him 'til the cops showed up.
