Messiaen's "Le Merle Noir" (The Blackbird) for flute and piano. This is one of the first of his pieces to be inspired so extensively by bird song, and culminates in a final section in which the flute plays a transcription of the blackbird's song against a piano part determined with serial techniques. Played here by Daniel Pailthorpe on flute and Stephen De Pledge on piano.

This is a reupload as youtube idiotically messed up the score/audio synching on the first try (and then did other idiotic things with subsequent tries)...hopefully all will go well this time.
