Enjoy my review of Nicki Minaj's highly anticipated new CD entitled Pink Friday. It was released on November 22, 2010 on the Young Money label.

"Nicki Minaj is rapping her ass off on the Em, Ye, and Drake collabs," tweeted Noah Callahan-Bever (@N_C_B), Editor in chief of Complex magazine. "Not really debatable."

Elsewhere, some seem let down by the album, perhaps expecting more of a comprehensive hip-hop sound, instead of crossover-infused pop rap. Rap critics have been particularly bearish.

"Pink Friday is total let down. I wish Nicki would've made just one rap album before becoming Fergie," wrote Andrew "Noz" Nosnitsky (@noz) of popular rap blog CBRap.com.

"Nicki Minaj should have had Dr. Luke produce her album," wrote Alvin Blanco (@aqua174), writer for Rapfix, XXL and The Village Voice, among others.

Editor in chief of Thewellversed.com, Andreas Hale (@andreashale), wrote, "Apparently Nicki Minaj has been convinced she can be the female version of Drake with this album. This is pop pollution."

"Dunno if anyone but the pink rangers are gonna be happy with this Minaj album," wrote Odeisel (@odeisel), founder of PlanetIll.com.

The project isn't without its supporters, however.

"It's impossible for men to accurately review Pink Friday the way it is impossible for women to accurately review a Too Short album," wrote Kathy Iandoli, writer for Rapfix, The Source and AOL's Boombox. "Pink Friday isn't meant for men."

Still, some mean enjoy Nicki's debut, despite what Iandoli might call, natural setbacks.

"Seriously impressed with Nicki Minaj's new album," wrote one fan, @yazanabughaida. "Thought she was talentless turns out she can make music."

"Nicki Minaj's album Pink Friday is sooo good!" tweeted @DandyPirell, another fan. "New spheres of music for me, very refreshing!"

As reported by MTV, Nicki decided to add five tracks, including her collab with will.i.am. Good call! Updated track list below.

The alleged track listing to Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday was revealed today, and mysteriously nowhere to be seen is her high-profile collab with will.i.am, the electro-poptastic "Check It Out". It's a peculiar choice to leave it off the LP, since the duo felt strongly enough about the song to perform it at the VMAs and even film a video. Find out what other single didn't make the cut by peeping Barbie's track list below.

Nicki Minaj -- Pink Friday

1. I'm The Best
2. Roman's Revenge (feat. Eminem)
3. Did It On'em
4. Right Thru Me
5. Fly (featuring Rihanna)
6. Save Me
7. Moment 4 Life (featuring Drake)
8. Check It Out (featuring will.i.am)
9. Blazin (featuring Kanye West)
10. Here I Am
11. Dear Old Nicki
12. Your Love
13. Last Chance (featuring Natasha Bedingfield)
14. Super Bass
15. Blow Ya Mind
16. Muny
17. Girls Fall Like Dominoes [Bonus Track]

The disappointing single "Massive Attack" didn't make the cut, which is only surprising since it was the first track Nicki dropped as a lead solo artist. Guess that one will be floating in the ether without an album for all eternity.

Pink Friday drops November 22, the same day as Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Jay-Z's Greatest Hits. That will be an exciting week on the charts, for sure. Who are you putting your money on to go to #1?

  • Cool review.Hey female rap/hiphop fans.. I would suggest listening to another female rapper Foxy Brown's album "Broken Silence" it has the best compilation of tracks in my opinion. There is some tracks for the females, some hard tracks for the guys, and some personal tracks about foxys personal life.. just a suggestion :) .. I would recommend it.. Let me know what you think :)

  • @teamfoxboogie

"Broken Silence" is such a great album of Foxy's. "Ill Nana" is a classic, and cannot be matched. "Chyna Doll" was too mainstream and lost Foxy for me... I still did like some tracks but the overall product no. "Broken Silence" was for sure the best of her career. Can't wait for "Black Roses"
