The insurance companies suck, but the reason they get away with it is that the congress has backed them up over the years. Socializing medicine is the exact opposite of what we should be doing though. We should try to make medicine a free market again, because the health insurance companies have destroyed the marketplace and delivery of medical care and pricing mechanisms. Socialization doesn't make it free again, it will be like a health insurance company run by government not by the doctors
