Another warm-up writing exercise for my students in history class. This is a "review" question after learning about the 5 tenets of Jim Crowism.

You know, the sad part about all this is, that the majority of blacks a long time ago were educated, didn't fit the negative stereotypes, and carried themselves well when they were being called "niggers" by whites. Now in the 21st century, the majority of blacks (23 and younger), do fit the stereotypes and actually act like "niggers". It's like we've gone ass backwards as a people.

@murraymae Agreed. Times don't have to be based on old mistakes, prejudice and poor perspectives on mankind. Freeing the mind to make asses follow - let's talk about people and not the simplicity of their pigment. If man wants to enjoy a variety in other species like ...bird plumage or whatever, why not just appreciate variety in our own and quit talking like one has to be a collective in mind and appearance?!

It's almost but not quite funny how the responses against racism are about as racist as the original sentiment ever was. Look, when you turn around and say "black people will get back on top" or even make general comments regarding one 'singular' race and another, you are falling into a human perspective that is race based. PIGMENT, that's all it is - and it VARIES from person to person. If people used to segregate, don't rail about there has to be a backlash/rebound/rebalance or that bullshit.

@cherishshanae Give it time to develop. You may not see it in your lifetime, but black people will get back on top, where they belong. Right now, you don't see it, but the system we're under is hindering. It will be exposed and destroyed soon enough, and when it is... there will be a great change for the better - gradually, not all at once!
