Spinning cd design. Dvx100. Macro +1, +2, +4, +10. Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8.

I highly suggest to get an achromatic lens instead of stacking cheap macro lenses like in this video, the vignetting and chromatic aberration will decrease dramatically so the footage will look much better, trust me its worth the extra money.

I currently have a 58mm +7 achromatic diopter with a 72-58 step down ring for the dvx100, then i just zoom through the lens, and it looks better than this video.

  • i just made a 35mm adapter, and i bought the Canon 50 1.8, and it seems like a it has a very short maximum focusing distance. I have no idea why that is and i dunno what lens to get that has a longer focusing range :(

  • i dont get what you are saying, the canon lens has a short focus, or the camera you are filming with does?

  • thank you. i like how it turned out. i plan on making a short film this winter so check back with me in mid january.

  • Very impressive! loved the quality, I'm looking to build one myself. I have an old gl1 which I think would do aright as far as aperture because it has a fairly wide lens. Haven't finished my research yet, but just wondering how loud is the motor?

  • its because you have placed the ground glass in a wrong distance. focus first really far away - like horizon - and set your ground glass distance to get sharp image

  • the canon lens on the end of the adapter

  • WOOOOO BSS, it appears as though we think alike.

  • one of my favorite songs.

  • this is the best homemade spinning DOF footage on youtube. easy. Good job bro. nice clean frame. Love the truck stuff

I'm building mine right now it's awesome! nicely done, no hot spot issue.
