Since China owns just a trillion dollars of our debt, it's not possible for them to has trillions of our debt. Stimulus spending did create jobs and prevented large job losses. Conservatives are totla morons to swallow these lies.

@DONGOE Canada.

@tigerhop Bank executives were fully responsible for loaning to unqualified buyers by accepting loan applications on which they actively encouraged people to LIE, then duping others to buy the known bad loans
The Housing bubble burst did not cause the financial meltdown. The meltdown, caused by the $600 TRILLION in betting contracts in the black derivatives market, is what caused the housing bubble to burst
Derivatives clauses dried up the liquidity that was fueling the housing bubble

Wrongly attacking me as liberal makes you a "conservative" or libertarian (conservative on intravenous koolaid)
Look at CRA changes during Bush II. Don't listen to pundits only... research. The legislation is available if you look
MONEY is created by govt to encourage the fair exchange of goods & services. Laws & Regs set standards for personal & business behaviors. They are needed for an honest, free society
Private sector subversion of rules has caused ALL of our economic crises
-
I see you actually ate the koolaid mix w/o diluting it with water first.
QUOTE the part of the CRA that tells banks to lend to unqualified buyers.
You lie that banks defended themselves from "suicidal loans"...lol
Bank executives bundled bad loans, bribed ratings agencies for AAA ratings, DUPED innocent people & institutions to take on the risk of 100s of billions in bad loans
UNREGULATED Free Market caused the meltdown
Banks VOLUNTARILY made bad loans for profit because they COULD
-
@hop The CRA encouraged banks to make loans with little or no downpayment. CRA did not tell banks to lend to unqualified buyers
Lenders lobbied to not hold notes, lawmakers allowed it. It was then that banks & mortgage institutions started massive fraud
They told unqualified buyers to LIE on loan applications because they knew they were not going to hold the risky, fraudulent loans or check their qualifications
Bank executives made up front fees, bundled bad loans, sold them for more profit
-
@michael0156 You are full of liberal crap. Keep drinking the Koolaid. It was the Community Housing and Reinevestment Act that FORCED banks to lend to UN-credit worthy people. So the banks washed their hands of these suicidal loans forced upon them, and played Washington at it's game. It was GOVERNMENT POLICY that created the housing crisis. ABOLISH BIG GOVERNMENT NOW! OUR MONEY IS OUR FREEDOM!

Where's the $15 trillion we "borrowed" & spent? Poor & middleclass don't have it
It's in the hands of the 1%- executives of corporations & banks
China holds $2 trillion from Americans buying products (middlemen made more)
We "borrowed" from The Federal Reserve, not China. The Fed prints Federal Reserve Notes or "loans" us electronic credits in exchange for Treasury bonds w/ semi-annual interest payments due. The Fed dupes Chinese (Saudis & others) into buying these Treauries
This is fraud

Everyone... do not fall prey to the fraudulent idea that govt is to blame for our problems
It is the corruption of govt officials that is the problem. It is up to "we the people" to get involved in first local, then state and national politics... we have to take control by electing honest men and women to our offices
HONEST govt is absolutely necessary for a free & prosperous society. W/o govt creating & enforcing FAIR laws & regs the 99% will become poorer, begging for ANY kind of job
@sgapplebee The list of sentences I posted are from the Libertarian Platform
You say I "can't name a single Libertarian who says it's ok for corporations to pollute" -
But the Lib platform says "Free markets & property rights stimulate the technological innovations & behavioral changes required to protect our environment"
Individual property owners must sue polluting corporations to "change their behaviors", a solution taking decades that could be prevented by proper regulation

Jordan Page in the song "Liberty" sings about our loss of freedom to banks and corporations
