Welcome to my latest ROM hack, Sonic the Hedgehog OmoChao Edition. Be prepared to throw your computer at the wall, or at least be very annoyed. :U

The basic premise is that now, floating behind you through the whole of Sonic 1, is OmoChao, trying to be helpful by telling you about things you do.

However, it just ends up more annoying than not, as it plays a jingle and freezes gameplay as it happens. Even more annoying is that the jingle gets longer each time you play!

Here we see Green Hill Zone Act 1 being Perfect Ranked. I'm sure this could be done even quicker, but this was done in one whole go without savestates, so forgive me. :P

Is Final Zone IMPOSSIBLE to Perfect?

@MrNiconiconico If you look at the Sonic Retro wiki article in the description, you'll see Final Zone is a special case. It takes into account all the previous levels' ranks first.

this just goes to show how ingeniously ahead of its time the level design for this game is. i remember hearing one of the developers in an interview say that they made this game like that on purpose; you can find innovative ways to not collect a ring that you don't want if you didn't want to or find other ways to speed-run the act, achieving certain objectives.

@hapisan My friend and I tried to put this on his Wii (Yes, he has the Homebrew Channel) and it wasn't working. Most of the other games work. (They're mostly Sonic hacks and prototypes, including Megamix, Nick Arcade, Simon Wai and S3&K Proto 0525.) Is there anyway you can help?
