Robert H. Lustig, MD, UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, explores the damage caused by sugary foods. He argues that fructose (too much) and fiber (not enough) appear to be cornerstones of the obesity epidemic through their effects on insulin. • What's most interesting are all the pro-fructose and surely-not comments from those who seem impervious to the evidence and arguments presented by Dr Lustig. I wonder if one unnoticed toxic side-effect of high dietary fructose is having the attention span and mental capacity of a gnat...

  • @theFamousSkiddz Then research when pediatricians agreed children could eat solids at 4 months, and you'll find that it coincided with the resurgence of women back into the work force. Obesity among infants follows shortly after that, by say a 10 yr span. Today, I've heard of some bonehead pediatricians telling moms to put rice cereal in the bottle w/the formula as early as 2 MONTHS!!!! That so Jr. sleeps longer so Mom and Dad can BOTH work and Susie Day care worker has an easy day!!!!

  • I learned something: Stop eating sugar. But for the first time, I could see why. I'm already ok with no having fructose, but my sugar intake was too high recently.

  • I find it slightly humorous that they had to bleep out Lustig saying "crap"

  • Forget horror movies, this shit is scary.

  • Some fruits have larger proportions of fructose to glucose compared to others. For example, apples and pears contain more than twice as much free fructose as glucose, while for apricots the proportion is less than half as much fructose as glucose.

  • @seaXcrow true that

  • @gorbonic That's sweet. Got nothing to refute, so straight to the insult. Sweeter then the best sugar substance when people can't come up with spin against well reasoned thinking.

  • @dialectical44 No, I have no such stock. As for explaining, if you are neither going to type in a clear, and non insulting way, there is no need to bandy words with a troll such as yourself. I know you meant "Why this is", but come on. As for the insult, look in the mirror bub. Prayers go out to you!

  • As an educated Witor from Norvwegian school system, this video, should be a "must see and learn" for educational chefs and witors. Many things in this video, is crossing over to our world (hotel & restaurant), as it does in the ordinary medicine world.

Thanks for this educational video of sugar.

Best regards a citizen of Norway.
