You realize thats Light as a shinigami. Why else would he offer Ryuk an apple only to have Ryuk respond by saying he likes the juicy ones.

Its also seen between the dialog in their conversation.

Why that Shinagami is Light

1. Ryun was telling a story and says "you were not god. You were just..." looks back and stops. It was like he was directly talking to Light. If not he would still have been finishing his train of thought.

2. After listening how Light was not god and how light just ended, the other shingami just left without hearing the ending. As if he heard enough of Lights human failures.

3. Shinagmi have the power to wipe memories. We have seen this countless times. So why can

@ShocariDarkwolf but then u must remember that ruyk had said that shinigami didn't know how they came to be. they have been there for many years so there is no way of reallying knowing with out the author telling us. but i do think he is in MU but it was told its heaven nor hell so u would have to think its a limbo kind of place bc other that used the death note went to MU but in lights case it would be different but who knows ...

@starterk10 MU is never truly defined in either the manga or the anime. The most likely thing is that MU IS the Shinigami Realm. Light is also stated to be a "worthy Shinigami." Having killed thousands, maybe even millions of people, as well as even killing a Shinigami...a person that committed to killing would be a prime candidate to become a Shinigami. Ryuk also wouldn't have known who Light was upon first meeting him, but his actions would prove otherwise.
